Priorities of the Danish Presidency

Denmark has just taken the helm of the European Union for six months and has presented its work programme. On the subject of the cohesion policy, it has undertaken to make progress on the negotiations on the new regulations for 2014-2020, along with the discussions on the multiannual financial framework. Its aim is to win the agreement of the Member States and European Parliament on certain priority matters, in particular: strategic planning, thematic concentration, ex-ante conditionality, simplification, financial management and controls. Two General Affairs Council (GAC) meetings will take stock of the negotiations on 24 April and 26 June 2012 in Luxembourg.
